For over 20 years, the OstseeMan in Glücksburg has provided that unforgettable feeling. Every year in August, hundreds of triathletes travel to the Baltic Sea to face ONE fantastic experience in particular: Swimming in the open sea - the absolute supreme discipline for triathletes and a real challenge, because the natural force of the sea is unpredictable.
What began as a military challenge in 2002 has made a name for itself in recent years as Germany's northernmost long-distance event. In addition to the 3.8-kilometre course in cool seawater, the OstseeMan scores points with a 180-kilometre, slightly hilly circuit through northern Angeln and the final 42-kilometre run course right by the water. In addition to the long distance, the OstseeMan also offers a middle distance.
But regardless of whether the athletes complete the long or the middle distance: the familiar atmosphere of the renowned event coupled with a fantastic fan atmosphere on the beach promenade and on Sandwig Hill create the special incentive for this top-class triathlon. And let's be honest: what could be better than feeling the cool Baltic Sea waves on your feet at sunrise and looking forward to the start?
Be there and be inspired on August
